Mike White

Managing Partner and author of CanSellWillSell

Mike has worked within the highly competitive world of media sales for over 30 years and more recently has designed and delivered sales training for major motor dealers involved in selling motor insurance add-on products

During his time in sales and sales management, Mike has run successful sales representation companies developing the advertising revenues of major press client from advertising agencies.

He has also worked within the corporate world in senior positions, managing and developing field and sales teams for media owners including Auto Trader and Archant Life, the leading publisher of county magazines in the U.K.

An experienced sales professional his combination of sales, excellent interpersonal skills, strong coaching and training skills and entrepreneurial thinking has resulted in continued delivery of client objectives over the last 30 plus years.


Rob Alder

Business and Training Associate CanSellWillSell

Rob Alder has extensive experience in selling complex marketing concepts at every level, Rob’s key skills allow him to demonstrate how to control the sales process, whilst maintaining a strong and trustworthy business relationship. His extensive practical sales knowledge and training background is the core part of his expertise. His wide marketing experience adds to his ability to empathise, understand and match customer need.

His sales career at GTE Corporation, working for Yellow Pages and Directline Rob managed and mentored sales teams across the UK, running sales divisions in Leeds, the North East and Bristol, before joining Friday Media Group as General Manager. Using his directory experience, Rob helped to expand a local business into a national brand, setting up sales training and recruitment programmes for both field and telesales operations, before moving into a group marketing role, setting up collaborative agreements with local TV and radio channels.

Rob’s recent experience includes senior sales management and training roles with local newspaper group Johnston Press and Reed Elsevier, as well as launching new business to business titles for Office Solutions Media and Elljays Publishing.
